Cingjing Farm in Nantou, Taiwan, offers stunning mountain views and fresh air. The famous Green Green Grassland is home to sheep that you can feed and pet. Sun Moon Lake, Taiwan's largest lake, is a must-visit.
I took a bus from Taichung to Cingjing. The drive up the mountain was winding but rewarded me with views of tea plantations and clouds below. At Cingjing Farm, I watched the sheep shearing show and walked along the endless green hills. The Swiss-style guesthouses in the area add to the charm.
The next day, I headed to Sun Moon Lake. I rented a bike and cycled along the lakeside path — one of the most beautiful bike trails I've ever experienced. I also took a boat to Xuanguang Temple and tried the famous Ah Po tea eggs. The lake's name comes from the shape: a sun on one side, a moon on the other. Watching the sunset reflect on the water was unforgettable.
Nantou is a perfect escape from city life. The combination of mountains, fresh air, and warm hospitality makes it a gem of central Taiwan.
